New York

Kate White is the New York Times bestselling author of fifteen novels of suspense: seven standalone psychological thrillers, including The Fiancée (Harper), and eight Bailey Weggins mysteries. Her last standalone thriller, Have You Seen Me?, was an Amazon Editors’ pick for best thrillers of 2020, and her 2019 novel, Such a Perfect Wife, was nominated for an International Thriller Writers Award. She has been published in countries around the world.

Like many female mystery authors, White fell in love with the genre after reading her first Nancy Drew book, The Secret of Redgate Farm. She is also the editor of the Mystery Writers of America Cookbook, as well as the author of several popular career books, including I Shouldn’t Be Telling You This: How to Ask for the Money, Snag the Promotion, and Create the Career You Deserve, and the ground-breaking Wall Street Journal bestseller, Why Good Girls Don’t Get Ahead but Gutsy Girls Do.

White is a frequent speaker at libraries, book conferences and companies, and has also appeared on many television shows, including The Today Show, CBS This Morning, and Good Morning America.

For fourteen years White served as the editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine, which under her became the most successful magazine in single copy sales in the U.S. Though she loved the job (and all the freebies to be found in the Cosmo beauty closet), she decided to leave eight years ago to concentrate full-time on being a suspense author.

White divides her time now between New York City and Las Flores, Uruguay.
