Dave Logan, Ph.D., is co-founder and senior partner of CultureSync, a management consulting firm specializing in cultural change, strategy, and negotiation.CultureSync’s clients include Intel, Colliers International, American Express, Prudential, and Health Net. Logan, a professor at the Marshall School of Business at USC, is known as one of the most engaging speakers and university faculty members on the worldwide speaking and media circuits. He is the author of the best-selling case study in the history of American business schools, and co-author, with John King and Halee Fischer-Wright, of Tribal Leadership: Leveraging Natural Groups to Build a Thriving Organization (Collins).

Ever since there have been people, there have been tribes. Within each corporation exist anywhere from a few to hundreds of separate tribes. Tribal Leadership and Logan’s presentations show how these tribes develop, how to assess them, and how to lead them to maximize productivity and growth. Tribal Leadership shows corporate leaders how to first assess their company’s tribal culture and then raise their companies’ tribes to unprecedented heights of success. In a rigorous eight-year study of approximately 24,000 people in over two dozen corporations, Logan discovered a common theme: the success of a company depends on its tribes, the strength of its tribes is determined by the tribal culture, and a thriving corporate culture can be established by an effective tribal leader.

Logan teaches leadership and negotiation in the USC Executive MBA (ranked fifth in the world), and is on faculty at the Center for Medical Excellence in Portland and the International Center for Leadership In Finance (ICLIF) in Kuala Lumpur (endowed by the former prime minister of Malaysia). During his time as Associate Dean of Executive Education at the Marshall School, Logan launched the largest training program incommercial real estate (with CB Richard Ellis), and new programs with dozens of organizations, from Northrop Grumman to numerous small cap financial institutions.

Logan’s work has also been publishedin numerous academic and professional journals, including a 2006 “agenda” in the MIT-Sloan Management Review. He has a Ph.D. in Organizational Communication from the Annenberg School at USC. He lives in Los Angeles.
