Comedian Tom Shillue is the host of “The Tom Shillue Show” on Fox News Radio, a popular face on the late-night circuit, and author of Mean Dads for a Better America: The Generous Rewards of an Old-Fashioned Childhood (Dey Street Books).

As a storyteller and traditional thinker, whip-smart funny Shillue grounds his ideas about our current culture and political climate in stories from his childhood. Growing up as one of five kids in a devout Irish Catholic family in a small town outside of Boston, Shillue sincerely believes that the rough-and-tumble, rules-dominated world in which he came of age was a better America—a time and place that made him into the well-adjusted, happy, successful man he is today. Mean Dads for a Better America finds the popular Fox News host reminiscing about his childhood, his family, and the old-school values he cherishes. Shillue takes us back to a time when neighbors disciplined each other’s children without fear of being sued, kids made it to the family table for dinner, parents’ rules were gospel, and the occasional fistfight was considered a fair way to solve a problem; a time when children were free to roam, make mistakes, and experience the first tastes of independence.

Shillue is the former host of the popular late-night series Red Eye with Tom Shillue on Fox News Channel. He has appeared on Comedy Central, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Conan, Late Night, Last Comic Standing, and was a correspondent on The Daily Show. Shillue frequently appears on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as part of “The Rag Time Gals,” Jimmy’s barbershop quartet. Performing alongside such guests as Justin Timberlake, Kevin Spacey, Steve Carell, Sting, and Tina Fey, the Gals’ videos have been viewed over 50 million times.

In 2013, Shillue released twelve consecutive comedy albums as part of his ambitious “12 in 12” project, and in 2014 he brought his solo show “Impossible” to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Shillue performs standup across the country and he headlined the 2015 Boston Comedy Festival as well as the 2016 SF Sketchfest in San Francisco.

Currently he resides in New York City.
