She published 10 critically-acclaimed mysteries under her real name, Kathy Hogan Trocheck, before launching her debut as women’s fiction novelist Mary Kay Andrews. Her mysteries have been nominated for the Edgar, Anthony, Agatha, and Macavity Awards. Her latest book is The Fixer Upper (Harper).

Andrews is a former journalist who spent 10 years as a feature writer for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. In addition to being a writer, she is a lifelong “junker” who knows the location of every promising thrift store, flea market, and junkpile in the Southeastern United States, plus many parts of Ohio.
The mother of two grown children, Andrews is a graduate of The University of Georgia, and lives with her husband of 31 years in a restored 1926 Craftsman bungalow in Atlanta.
