With three decades of experience, Justin A. Frank, M.D. is an expert psychiatrist and psychoanalyst. He has written and lectured widely on political psychology, as well as on film and theater. A former columnist for Salon magazine, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Forum for the Psychoanalytic Study of Film. Dr. Frank has received numerous teaching awards and is co-director of the Metropolitan Center for Object Relations in New York, clinical professor in the Department of Psychiatry at George Washington University Medical Center, and teaching analyst at the Washington Psychoanalytic Institute.
After completing college and medical school, Frank did his Psychiatric Residency at Harvard Medical School – both at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center and later at The Cambridge Hospital where he was Chief Resident. Frank was also awarded the DuPont-Warren Fellowship by Massachusetts General Hospital.
Frank used the principles of applied psychoanalysis to assemble a comprehensive psychological profile of President George W. Bush in his book Bush on the Couch: Inside the Mind of the President.
Frank lives in Washington D.C. where he teaches and practices psychoanalysis.
