TRAVELS FROM
Illinois
Jen Schefft was originally introduced to television audiences during the third installment of ABC’s The Bachelor. Fifteen million viewers tuned in per week to watch the on-camera romance between Schefft and “Bachelor” Andrew Firestone. Firestone proposed to Schefft and she gained nationwide notoriety as the winning bachelorette. Ultimately, the relationship did not last and Schefft was given another chance to find romance on The Bachelorette in early 2005. The outcome took America by surprise as Schefft was the first Bachelor/Bachelorette star not to make a match.
Better Single Than Sorry: A No-Regrets Guide to Loving Yourself and Never Settling is Schefft’s frank and insightful discussion of how there is much more to enjoy in life than just being in a relationship for the sake of not being alone and how to be happy regardless of one’s relationship status. The book was featured on the Today Show and TV and radio shows across the country.
Donned "Fan Favorite" in US Weekly for her approachable beauty and calm demeanor, Schefft has guest co-hosted The View on numerous occasions, co-hosted the 2005 Academy Awards live pre-show on E! Entertainment Television, and has appeared on countless news and talk shows including the Oprah , Live with Regis and Kelly, Good Morning America, and the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Over the past two years, this two-time reality television star has graced the covers and pages of People, Redbook, US Weekly, and InTouch Weekly.
Prior to being thrust into the public eye, Schefft attended Ohio University where she graduated summa cum laude in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She started her career as an account executive at Getty Images, a photography company in Chicago, where she remained for five years until signing up as a participant on The Bachelor. Schefft moved to San Francisco in 2003 with former fiancé Andrew Firestone, where she worked as a sales manager for the Firestone Family Vineyards. She also served as the Goodwill Ambassador for Firestone Tires, which included serving as a spokesperson and advocate for Driver's Edge, a program that educates teens about the dangers associated with drinking and driving.
Schefft is single and happy, and resides in Chicago.
