Brian Kilmeade is a co-host of the Fox News Channel’s popular morning program Fox & Friends and also serves as the network’s sports reporter.
Kilmeade graduated from Long Island University and began his career as a correspondent on Channel One, a national high school television news program. He then served as an anchor and host for KHSC-TV in Ontario, California and host for XTRA-AM sports radio network where his jobs included co-hosting The Jim Brown Show.
Prior to joining the Fox News Channel, Kilmeade served as a freelance sports anchor for as a sideline reporter for the MSG Network, where he covered virtually every major sport. He worked as a feature reporter and anchor for Newsport TV, where he hosted Newsport Journal, a daily magazine show for the national sports network. He also anchored Scoreboard Central, a live half-hour general sports program, and has seven years of experience as a stand-up comedian.
Now at Fox, Kilmeade’s dual role shows his versatility in reporting daily news while maintaining the networks sports coverage. For Fox & Friends, his interviews with Secretary of State Colin Powell and comedian Janeane Garofalo made national headlines. Kilmeade played a large part in Fox’s coverage of September 11, 2001 , as well as Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he reported from Kuwait with the troops. He also contributed live coverage of both the Democratic and Republican Party Conventions. As the network’s sports anchor, Kilmeade covers all major sporting events and sports personalities on location and in studio. Throughout the year, he reports from the sidelines of the National Football League, Major League Lacrosse and Major League Soccer.
Kilmeade’s New York Times best-seller, The Games Do Count: America's Best and Brightest on the Power of Sports, examines how sports have influenced the lives of our leaders. The book spent nine weeks on the New York Times best-seller list and about 20 weeks on the extended list. With interviews from luminaries ranging from U.S. presidents and CEOs to movie stars and pop icons, the book is a motivational look at the positive effect sports has on our lives. Drawing from The Games Do Count, Kilmeade speaks on his unique perspective on sports, leadership, and teamwork.
