Betsy Brown Braun is a Child Development Specialist, a Parent Educator, and a Multiple Birth Parenting Consultant. With a Masters Degree in Human Development and teaching credentials from Pacific Oaks College, Braun has over 35 years of experience in early childhood and elementary education and as a parenting educator. She has taught in both public and private schools, has been a school director, and was the founding director of Wilshire Boulevard Temple’s Early Childhood Center.

Braun is a frequent speaker at educational conferences, schools, business groups, and corporations. She is also a contributor to publications, such as Twinsmagazine, Family Circle, USA Today, and to KNX news radio on matters of child development. Braun has been a guest on National Public Radio, and has been cited in the New York Times and Instyle.

Braun is the author of the new book Just Tell Me What to Say (February, 2008), which gives parents sensible language and explanations for handling specific situations inevitable in raising young children. In this unique guide to parenting children aged two to six, she provides sensible scripts for perplexed parents to tackle the “hard stuff: from sibling rivalry and the food wars to questions about death and sex. In the book and in her talks, Braun delivers her down-to-earth advice with humor that is derived from her expertise as a child development specialist and parent educator who has worked with hundreds of children and families.

In 2001 Braun founded, Parenting Pathways, Inc. (www.parentingpathways.com) through which she provides consultation services, parenting groups, and individual seminars. These are designed to smooth the journey along the often challenging parenting pathway. She consults about parenting issues regarding children, newborn through twelfth grade, for child development/behavior questions, and for school placement (nursery and elementary school.)

Braun lives in Pacific Palisades, California with her husband Ray. They are parents of adult triplets.
